Issues on Pacific Salmon Recovery in the Northwest
Reproductive Biology and Conservation, March 28/29, 2002

A symposium jointly sponsored by the Washington State University / University of Idaho Center for Reproductive Biology and the Northwest Fisheries Center of the National Marine Fisheries Service will present information on reproductive biology and conservation of salmon and steelhead in the Pacific Northwest. The objective of this symposium is to provide a forum for the exchange of new information and to foster communication among individuals interested in salmon recovery in the Northwest.

Numerous factors are contributing to the declines in the salmonid populations in the Northwest. The information presented in this symposium will focus on factors that impact the reproductive potentials of wild and hatchery populations and will include information regarding the potential interactions of disease and stress on reproductive function.

The symposium will include invited oral presentations as well as a poster session in which everyone attending the meeting is invited to contribute (see details below concerning the submission of an abstract).

Location
University Best Western Inn, Moscow, ID

Dates
The symposium will begin at 1:00 p.m. on March 28th and it will end at noon on March 29th.

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Because of space, the number of posters that can be accommodated is limited. Therefore, the program committee will select the posters to be presented based on the submitted abstract. Each abstract will be reviewed for scientific merit and content. Each abstract should be 250 words or less in length. The title should be in all caps; the authors and their affiliation should follow on the next line. The beginning of the abstract should be indented three spaces. Each abstract should contain a statement of specific objectives, a brief statement of methods, summary of the results and a statement of the conclusions. The deadline for submission is 5 p.m. on Feb 15th; abstracts can be submitted as a Word attachment to email (jcloud@uidaho.edu); by FAX (208-885-7905) or by mail (J. Cloud, Department of Biological Sciences, University of Idaho, Moscow, ID 83844-3051). Selection of the posters to be presented at the symposium will be completed by Feb 22nd ; everyone that submits an abstract will be notified of the outcome by email.
