RESEARCH INTERESTS: Equine Reproduction, Clinical Reproduction/Theriogenology. RESEARCH SUMMARY: Research in our laboratory investigates basic and applied aspects of gamete physiology and endocrinology in horses. Areas of gamete research include oocyte collection, maturation and transfer; in vitro fertilization; and nuclear transfer. Areas of endocrine research include regulation of prostaglandin F2a secretion during luteolysis and maternal recognition of pregnancy. The goal of this research is to increase the reproductive efficiency of horses and lead to the development of new assisted reproductive techniques for horses.
