Research Interests
My research is in the area of the
ethics of biomedical technologies (both the thics of research and
the implications of the application of such technologies).
Research Summary
I am currently engaged in research exploring the intersection of biomedical technologies and moral identity and character. This research moves in two directions. On the one hand, I am interested in how our engagement with various biomedical technologies shapes us as persons. That is, how does the use of a particular type of biomedical technology form our character and sense of identity? From the other direction, my research is aimed at considering how an individual's sense of moral identity--those values that contribute to his/her sense of who he/she is--will affect decisions concerning the use of biomedical technologies.
