Summary:
This core provides services to obtain histological sections and related methods for all the projects. The core provides training and individualized procedure development for tissue preparation, immunohistochemistry, and in situ hybridization. Digital image analysis facilities will also be available. All the projects require these types of analysis and will utilize this core.

 

Services:
All services will be processed through Histology Core laboratory (Dr. Kwan Hee Kim's laboratory, Heald 431, Washington State University).

Reduced rates and prompt processing for tissue preparation, cutting, staining at Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (see Table 1). The anticipated turn-around time is 2 weeks.

Reduced rates for confocal microscopy usage at Electron Microscopy Center. Individual investigators in the Center for Reproductive Biology will pay $12.50/hour, which is 50% of the current charge.

Training and procedure development will be available for Immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, light microscopy, digital imaging, and confocal microscopy

Coordinate annual microscope cleaning and maintenance service: This service is available in Spring. Fee covers microscope cleaning and the share of the technician's travel cost from Seattle.
